Al Pacino to play JoePa in film about Penn State coach

Oscar-winning actor Al Pacino is set to tackle the role of Joe Paterno in a feature film about the late Penn State football coach.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pacino will reteam with director Brian De Palma for the film, tentatively titled ?Happy Valley.?

The two previously worked together on ?Scarface? and ?Carlito?s Way.?

Producer Edward R. Pressman optioned the rights to the movie from the best-selling book ?Paterno? by Joe Posnanski.

?I can?t think of a better duo to tell this story of a complex, intensely righteous man who was brought down by his own tragic flaw,? said Pressman.

The film is currently looking for a screenwriter. No release date has been announced.
